This table started off as a repair job. A lovely woman from L.A called me and described this table that she had had for years (Maybe 20?) that was in disrepair. When I suggested we change the design and start all over, she insisted that she wanted the same design, as it was very sentimental to her. We kept the design, but we still needed to start from scratch and the table needed to be prepped the right way. We tore out the old, poured, cracked cement and put in new cement board.
I’d never done anything so calculated and precise. I had to consult with my friend in Eagle Rock who owns what I think to be the best glass store in California. http://stainedglassandfusingsupplies.weebly.com/ He gave me the proper tools to do all the cutting, and I was on my way.
I was cutting little squares, rectangles and triangles for days!
